Union Beach requesting survivor pension benefits for widow of fallen firefighter

With one member absent, the borough council voted 5-0 on Thursday to apply for the benefits on behalf of Linda Meyer, the widow of Robert Meyer, who suffered a fatal heart attack while battling a four-alarm blaze at a commercial building on June 8, Mayor Paul Smith said today.
